Assignment Taken

Develop a IT plan for the Business Expansion of Ramalingam Foods

Case Understanding

• A thriving fast food restaurant in South Bombay known for its authentic freshly cooked South Asian cuisine and outstanding filter coffee keeps its business running even during a power outage by employing creative methods like selling Dosa-Idli batter and packets on the same premises. • Mr Vijay is a new generation businessman, and when he took over the reins in 1900, he sought to expand the company. However, because to the moist nature of the Idli-Dosa batter, its short shelf life, and perishable character, he devised the novel notion of making a powder form of the batter. This Instant idea was a blockbuster, allowing the company to expand across India. • The Instant mixes are also a hit in the Middle East, South East Asia, and the United Kingdom, according to the management. Due to a lack of experience with international expansion, a consultancy was recruited.

BCS Solution Summary

The IT and Business Analysis Department will help in analysing the data across three regions based on the ripples in the sales and fluctuation in demand. It will also analyse the social media feeds, and other firms to come to a conclusion on the business expansion in a particular region out of the three regions it wanted to expand its business. The IT Department will also emphasize on the support it can provide to the other departments to execute the business expansion plan. 1. International Market expansion plan o Python and AI-based forecasting for analysis of data of packaged food industry in countries in the South East Asian region. o Implementation of Vendor code based Hadoop Network o Implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) o Designing a website of Ramalingam foods with its key highlights and usage of their respective local languages to have a customer-friendly UI/UX. 2. Finance Department o Cloud financial management software for real time financial data view and management 3. Human Resource Department o HR Cloud for speed, fast deployment, and cheaper HR solutions After Analysing the data, we are suggesting the business to expand in the Southeast Asian Region particularly in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia. The IT department will work in collaboration with all the Departments to on-board all possible technological advancements and business process improvements in every phase of business expansion to achieve the milestone as planned.

Solution

International Business Expansion Plan

Unity of Direction:

  • Use of Python, will allow integration of all the business customization along with the Machine Learning Forecasting Algorithms/ Models (NNAR, LSTM etc.) to predict demand in the future on the basis of social media feeds, news, and the mood of the market.
  • The IT department is also intending to build a mobile-based application that can track daily sales and link it into a cloud-based ERP to assure zero-inventory management and minimal wastage shortly, given that we are dealing with products with short minimum shelf lives.

Unity of Command:

  • The Department is also planning to work in collaboration with the Marketing and Supply Chain Team to implement the Hadoop network for live tracking of the shipments and the market fluctuations.
  • Hadoop is a way of storing enormous data across the distributed clusters of servers and then running “distributed” analysis applications in each cluster. We suggest using HDFS (Hadoop Distribution File System) that provides high throughput access to application data.
  • We also propose establishing a UI/UX website in the native languages of these nations to provide a user-friendly wrapping for the deliciousness of Indian cuisine. We'll work with their governments to get permission to display our cuisines on their tourism pages to attract more customers.

Finance Department

  • For an automated Financial Solution Matrix throughout the organization, the IT department recommends a Cloud-based Financial Management solution. This would essentially provide the Ramalingam Foods and Finance Team with an ecosystem of connected tools for managing accounts, financial reports, payment processing, and budget management. Because the data is stored online, it may be accessed via mobile devices from anywhere and at any time.
  • This software could handle the Purchase Orders, Invoice Approval, Expense Reimbursements, and many more.
  • The program is reasonably priced, with automatic upgrades and low maintenance expenses, as well as mobile access and ERP integration options that eliminate double-entry and manual errors.

Human Resource Department (Degree of Centralization)

  • For HR, our organization recommends using the HR Cloud, a cloud-based software. This software will give Ramalingam Foods a competitive advantage over its competitors. It will offer the client less paperwork, real-time and accurate performance assessments, 24/7 access to pay and benefit information, quick deployment, a new approach to security, easy access to innovation, and, last but not least, predictive analysis.
  • Although the HR cloud does not handle payrolls, we do provide a solution for that as well. We can deal with payrolls on the ERP database or use ADP Workforce Now for payrolls because of its integration flexibility with other ERPs.

FINANCIAL BUDGET FOR IT REQUIREMENTS

Conclusion
To ensure the smooth operation of the Ramalingam Food Business, the Nexus Solution IT Department has worked in tandem with all departments to suggest and implement the most optimised and innovative ideas, including Social Media platform, Mobile applications, Websites, Cloud based ERP, and department-specific software. These cloud-based platforms are less expensive and less expensive than office-based servers, but they come with a 5% risk of data theft. To prevent future data theft incidents, the IT security team will concentrate on cloud-based software licencing and their policy agreements.
