Assignment Taken

Develop a Hiring & Incentive strategy for Human resources working on international expansion to enable a speedy growth.

Case Understanding

1. Human Resources department will face most challenges in people management due to cross cultural collaboration primarily due to difference in time zones and linguistics. 2. If we will adopt a hybrid model of hiring the employees from India as well as UK, the difference in payroll across horizontals will create disharmony amongst them 3. Ramalingam foods is an Inherently Indian-centric company, with Mr. Vijay having limited exposure to international business will create a huge challenge for the organization.

BCS Solution Summary

Solution has been divided into two parts: Hiring of talented salesforce and incentivizing them. We will go with hybrid recruitment where higher management positions will be given to Indian managers who will be hiring and coordinating junior sales team. HR policies will follow agile leadership and design thinking will be people centric. Focusing on employee wellbeing, will ensure maximum output. Payrolls will comprise both fixed and variable component which will insure completion of sales target. Apart from sales team, we will also hire PR team which understands the UK Market space and will help us create positive brand image

Solution

We will hire staff from India for higher management roles who would be willing to relocate themselves. This will help us save on salaries as Indian employees would be happy with comparatively less remuneration.

Using Herzberg’s two factor theory, we will make sure that our employees get good remuneration and are given job security. The UK market has the fifth longest working hours in the world but we will not burden are employees with long working hours. We will allow them flexible work hours which will motivate them. We will give them growth opportunities to grow with the growth of organization in the market. Employee wellbeing initiatives like fun meets, music jam sessions, flexible work hours amongst others will maintain high levels of enthusiasm and reduce attrition rate. Top performers will be recognized by the organization and awarded by titles to make them feel honored

We will hire locals for lower management roles. Hofstede’s cultural dimensions gives us the insight and people and very individualistic in UK so we will recognize them as employee of the month and top performers will be given monetary incentives independent of the overall growth of the organization.

Conclusion
With the overall budget of 3 crores, which will be primarily used for talent acquisition, learning and development, we will ensure following things: 1. While hiring employees, we will seek their interest and ensure that their goals are aligning with the goals of employees 2. Working with us should be their choice, not compromise 3. We will focus on creating an exhilarating work atmosphere through group activities, providing networking opportunities, emphasizing on younger workforce.
