Our company wants to enter into a new form of delivery through drones to cut down on delivery times. We have chosen drones as an effective method as it can cut down on delivery timings to much greater extent. We strive to achieve a target of effective delivery in under 15 minutes for up to 5 Km. We strive to add value to our end-users as it is an extension of our current portfolio. Goals that we have set for our company are as follows: 1. To achieve break-even within the 1st year of operations 2. Effectively establish our brand under our new initiative 3. Innovation in process and product to become the market leader We have a budget of Rs. 10 crore for the current financial year.

BCS Solution Summary

The success of drone delivery has proven to be less about the technology and more about the supply chain. Zipline, the San Francisco based drone delivery company that redefined what's possible using drones in Ghana by delivering blood and PPE always highlights that it is a logistics company first and a drone business second. We have seen that drone delivery is an upcoming segment in the industry, we can effectively decide on a nice for our business. For eg. medicine or health related products, covid test kits delivery business could be our target. Another important sector could be military as timely supplies of food to soldiers are highly important. We plan to enter into the e-commerce market by starting with grocery delivery. We plan to optimise our supply chain so as to minimise wastage and increase efficiency. In the coming future, we plan to add new fleets of drones with increased capacity and flying time.

Solution

In order to achieve the above defined business goals, we need to focus more on our supply chain. The success of drone delivery has proven over the past years to be less about the technology and more about the supply chain and how the drone is used. For eg. Its most important innovation comes through supply chain management, integration with existing workflows and continued education of their stakeholders in the process.

Establishing our brand

  1. Decide our Niche: As we have seen that drone delivery is an upcoming segment in the industry, we can effectively decide on a nice for our business. For eg. Medicine or health related products like PPE, covid test kits delivery business could be our target since timely delivery is of utmost importance in the pharmaceutical sector. Another important sector could be military as timely supplies of food to soldiers in remote areas is highly important.
  2. Creating our website and social media platforms and marketing our company with our delivery drone videos.
  3. Distribute business cards along with the delivery package
  4. Engage in forums with customers and potential clients

Innovation in process

“Change is the new constant”, and our company strives to add value to our customers by continuously innovating our delivery process and products. In the coming future, we plan to add new fleets of drones with increased capacity and flying time. We plan to enter into the e-commerce market by starting with grocery delivery. We look forward to smoothen our customer experience by introducing 10 min grocery delivery options. We plan to optimise our supply chain so as to minimise wastage and increase efficiency in our business model.
