Case UnderstandingThe case is of a courier company that wants to expand their business and has ventured into Hyper Local Delivery Space, now they will be using drones, to deliver goods in the local areas, they have acquired all the necessary obligations that had to be met, and has also started trials with a few food delivery, pharma and internal local deliveries, the pilot testing was successful with positive feedbacks from the clients and company’s mission statement is also to provide ultimate benefits to the customers which is being met through this plan, thus company has decided to add a division that is entirely dedicated to delivery via drones in their existing portfolio. Company already has decided onto the rates along with the weights the drones can carry for example, 0.1 grams to 500 grams the cost is Rs. 60. The company also has a certain amount of workforce dedicated to this division. What the company plans to do is achieve break even within the first year of its operations to consider whether venturing into this area is profitable or not, they also aim to establish their brand in the area of drone delivery in the market, in simple terms the company aims to be a market leader, the firm also with time, aims to introduce innovation in the existing product and also the way the goods are being delivered.
BCS Solution SummaryIn this case, there will be an addition of division to the current organizational structure, along with that there will be hiring of new personnel, the training of existing and new personnel and also performance management of the employees on regular basis to ensure increased efficiency and productivity.
Solution

The current global environment has become highly competitive and in order to grow and survive in the current scenario it is necessary for companies to invent, innovate and also adopt new technologies to meet their business requirements. The current venture of this company is also an example of the aforesaid, over here the company plans on introducing drone based local delivery system, in order to provide satisfaction to the end user. 

In order for the proposal to yield benefits in the future, we plan to add another division that is completely dedicated to delivery via drones. With the current addition of division to the firm, there will also be recruitment of new workforce, the potential candidates will go through a selection process, followed if they are selected will be undergoing a training and skill development sessions, in order to match their current capabilities to organisational goals, and further they will be regularly evaluated on their performance in order to ensure standardisation of operation. 

For recruitment purposes, we are currently considering both internal and external sources of recruitment, the external candidates will also go through a selection process consisting of aptitude test and interviews, followed by that we aim on providing both on the job and off the job training programs to improve the skills of the employees. We also will be having a regular performance appraisal program to ensure the growth of the organisation. 

ConclusionWe expect the firm to achieve its basic stated goals, i.e., attain break even, establish itself in the market, and also innovate its existing product. Our plan is a cost-effective plan, that aims to increase the net revenue of the organization and also fulfill its vision and mission to provide satisfaction to the end users. We also expect the firm to grow in depth also in terms of breadth in its future prospects.
