Case Understanding
India is a developing country where we have great source of renewal energy but here the people are less inclined towards the use of electric vehicle and due to this in automobile sector Indian market is still at infant stage. Total registered vehicle is 280million and according to a report in times of India in 2019 only 400,000 registered electric vehicle (EV) runs in India. This clearly represents the dependency on fossil fuels. Too much dependency on the fossil fuel will not only lead to pollution but also lead to excessive use of non-renewable resources. The government is looking forward to 30% adoption of EV by 2030 but only 6% of automobiles sold in the country by 2030 will be electric, according to the new global EV outlook by research firm BloombergNEF. The report says “ India will adopt EVs much slower than not only china and the west, but also rest of the world, leading to globally fragmented auto market”. Two and three-wheeler vehicles in india will be more attractive targets for electrification in short term, the outlook report says. Although it is a challenge to influence and educate people to use electric vehicle because firstly the EVs are costlier as compared to those of fuels vehicle and other thing is there is no proper availability of EVs charging station because one would easily find the petrol pumps but not the charging stations. according to a new survey about 87% of Indian drivers and vehicle owners would buy an electric vehicle, if that helped to reduce air pollution. But only 12% would switch to EVs to avoid using petrol and diesel according to survey commissioned by climate trends. In 2017, india sold about 900,000 EVs, 4% of the volume of diesel and petrol vehicles sold
BCS Solution Summary
Although we have less EV charging stations compared to petrol pumps or the charging facilities for the electric vehicle are not good enough to attract the customers. Every consumer prefers convenience over everything, they can carry petrol or diesel to avoid any inconvenience but for electric vehicles owner it would be quite challenging if their battery would get discharged while they are driving or they won’t get any charging station to charge their vehicle in a long route distance. To avoid this inconvenience and to promote the EVs revolution in automobile sector, we design a vehicle which provides you charging in just one click. Our vehicle not only uses renewal energy but also work as a rescue squad to provide necessary equipments to charge your vehicle. We designed an E-van which is electrically hybrid vehicle works as a movable charging station and provide service to the customers. The E-van is an app-based vehicle, the customer have to install our app EVS and after successful installation of the app the consumer can place a order. FEATURES OF THE VEHICLE 1. >>On each van we have installed 1Kw on-grid solar panel system, which means four solar panels of 250W and 20% efficiency are arranged on the roof of the van. 2. >>Each vehicle carry one level 2 and one level 3 charger. Level 2 charger is operated by AC current while level 3 require DC current. 3. >>If weather is not favorable for the solar panel we use the traditional methods of charging as the wastage FEATURES OF APP 1. >>After successful installation of app the consumer have to fill the required information including name, contact number, address, email id, detail of their vehicle and battery capacity. 2. >>We also have the calendar feature for those EV owners who want to avail our service on daily basis. 3. >>If the consumer refers our app to their friends and family then they get some extra benefits. 4. >>24/7 customer care helpline available. 5. >>Consumer can place the order of battery by using our app 6. >>We also provide the option of retrofitting. The electric vehicle is quite costly hence people may convert their fuel or diesel vehicle into electric vehicle. If the owner want to retrofy their vehicle then we will do it and also provide the necessary information to the customer. 7. >>Tracking feature is also available so that we will provide the service on time and to track location of customer when they get stuck 8. >>Multiple payment facility
Solution

If you have an electric vehicle and you get stuck in between due to insufficient charging or unavailability of charging stations then we are here to help you out. If consumer feel hesitate to buy EV because they have no idea how they would manage to charge their vehicles daily then we will take the responsibility to do so.

We are using level 2 charger (240V) which usually takes 4-6hrs to charge completely and level 3 chargers (480V) with CHAdeMO technology and charge the vehicle in just 30minutes, it takes less time but not compatible with all vehicles and  we carry batteries too for back-up. To minimize the space we are using the solar panel with 20%efficiency, which means 1KW solar panel system will occupy the roof space of 5sq m and generate 3-4.5KWh electricity in one day.

Not only on our vehicle have we also installed 2KW solar panel system on our workstation to make maximum use of renewal resources. We charge batteries their and if due to weather the solar panel would not able to generate electricity then we will use traditional method by using batteries and generators in our workstations.

Although we carry universal connector J1772 (also called J plug) in each van because it is compatible for all EV except tesla which is equipped with adapter for J plug but we also provide car detail option in our app to avoid any mistake.

We also provide retrofitting for 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler so that owner who don’t want to buy a new vehicle can modify their old one and for this they can place a request on our app so that we would contact them and explain the whole process as how things are done because it is necessary to maintain transparency with the customers.

DIVISION OF WORK

According to this management principle “ every individual or employee working in the organization have specialized in different areas and have different skills. Specialization promote efficiency of workforce and increase productivity”

In our team we have mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, CS graduate and people from marketing and management. Each one us is specialized in some skills and we will divide our work to attain the common objective. We doesn’t have enough resources to handle our business in beginning so we divide the responsibilities and work on our own to make the necessary strategies and to bring the required advancement in our vehicle and in our business too. We make our own prototype and take the initiative to start the business.

UNITY OF DIRECTION

According to this management principle “all should focus and represent unity in delivering the same activities that can be linked to plan of action”

When the consumer place the order that they want to avail our services then our team will receive a popup notification on the administrative panel and their we will see the requirement of the person and the charging capacity of the battery. After analyzing the need we will send our worker or employee to charge the electric vehicle. Here we all have the same objective and we all work together to meet the customer expectation.

PRINCIPLE OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

To get succeed in every business customer should be prioritized.  In this modern era where electric vehicle are promoted at global stage as it save our nature and minimize pollution, hence being a budding entrepreneur it is our responsibility to take to support the EV revolution.

For “go green” we have to promote the people to “go electric”. And for this we also give pop-up notifications to the customer in which we use small quotes or lines to educate and influence them to make maximum use of renewal resources because it all start with an initiative.

We organized loyalty programs to encourage the electric vehicle owner and also tie-up with known taxi and cab services to spread this propaganda of “go electric”. We provide discounts, special offers to retain the customer. We provide multiple payment methods, consumer can pay on app by using debit card, credit card, google pay, phone pay, paytm and cash on delivery is also available.

To increase the market share of electric vehicle our vehicle would prove a better service option to the consumer or the electric vehicle owner.

 

Conclusion
It is important to aware and encourages people to use electric vehicles and this would prove a good initiative. For “go green” we have to “go electric”. The vehicle will solve the issue of unavailability of charging station. not everyone is well aware about the retrofitting so for those who don’t want to sell their old car they can modify it. Our platform not only provide service but we also provide batteries as per customer demand or one can easily buy batteries too by using our app, because world is leading to globally fragmented auto market

Overall good presentations, the mix and match of battery and solar power is good concept. When we say product development, It means everything that is used in product Team have just focused on energy aspect of the vehicle, but the vehicle comprises of many things, What about features like sensor controls, lights, vehicle motor power, Vehicle battery life and power, how much bhp will be generated, self start outer features, design etc Team should have added new features like reverse energy generation from brake systems.
