Fresh Grower has introduced Indian consumers to a new concept of farm-to-table. As being new and never heard of this business entity faced a lot of problems. Many problems being such as harvesting of crop, farmers understanding of business, use of pesticides and chemicals on crops, fund raise, issues being faced of introduction to the new market, finding investors.

BCS Solution Summary

Fresh Grower is a Pune based initiative. Here we procure farm products from nearby farmers and directly deliver them to the consumers. Fresh Grower is recording a phenomenal growth over the work period of two years. It is estimated to grow and increase its size by 3 folds in the next 2 years. Farm Grower targeting nearby cities as its new market gain from the expansion far exceed the cost incurred for the project. Fresh Grower is a growing entity providing employment.

Solution

Fresh Grower is a Pune based company started by Chitranjan Desai. He started this business with the thought to provide fresh product to the consumers. It is a concept where he bought fresh harvested food from the farmers and delivered them directly to the consumers. This concept of providing fresh food is called Farm-to-table. Fresh Growers directly take food from the farmers and delivers to the consumers.

 As an initiative Farm Growers got very positive response from the consumers. In its first few months after the commencement Farm Grower had a total of 50 households as their customer who enjoyed their services. After the first year of their services Fresh Grower had a total of 400 active households as their daily consumers. Farm Grower has seen a phenomenon growth during the pandemic. Lockdown impacted Farm grower in a positive way. Total number of active consumers increased by 100 during the pandemic. Currently Farm Grower has a total of 400 active consumers.

After a successful service with in the Pune city Farm Grower is thinking about expanding its business to other metropolitan cities. The goal of Farm Grower is to expand its business to at least 3 cities within 2 years. Farm Grower is trying to expand its business as to do so they need more investment and trying to raise their funds. The motive of Fresh Grower is to provide farm and healthy food to as much consumers as they can.

Farmers that provide crops used pesticides, germicides and harmful chemicals. Fresh Grower wants farmers to use organic practices to provide organic and good quality products. Expansion of business will help farmers to raise their standard of living. Good earning means farmers will move more towards organic farming.

Fresh growers can take help of angel investors to grow their business. And also they can approach angel investors from other nearby cities where they want to expand their business. Angel investors have their influence already in the market using which they can help introducing the product to the market in new cities as well as help in raising funds for the company.

Fresh Grower also will help in providing employment in new cities as well by expanding their business. Expansion of business means new job opportunities for the locals.
